About John Xavier
John Xavier is a 12-year-old award-winning author, actor, literacy advocate, and kidpreneur from the Greater Philadelphia area. Recognized by the YGB Entrepreneurial Awards Program an the State of New York as the 2023 Nina Simone Artistic Excellence in Writing Awardee, John Xavier is the author of John’s Journey to Outer Space (2019; audiobook 2021) and John’s Virtual School Journey (2021), which are both children’s books. In 2022, he partnered with The Philadelphia Free Library and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) for a city-wide literacy campaign aimed at encouraging kids to read fluently by the 4th grade. Additionally, John Xavier has partnered with the Philadelphia School District, Girls Inc., and ParentChild+ to offer author visits and writing clinics.
In 2023, John Xavier wrote the short film Sci-Kids, which is based on his book series. Sci-Kids has been accepted into several film festivals, and in 2023 won Best Short in the Children & Family Category at IndieFEST.
When John is not writing, acting, or conducting science experiments, he is learning Spanish, cooking, making slime, or playing video games.
